Canyon Kozjak
Maybe you’ve heard about the famous Kozjak waterfall, which is where we finish our journey in Kozjak canyon, a gem for canyoning Slovenia
To get to Kozjak canyon, we have to drive for a bit longer, as it’s located in Kobarid—about 40 minutes from Soča Village. Rest assured that it’s worth the drive! Toting your professional gear, you walk up the hill for 40 minutes, but remember—no pain no gain! That hike is worth every minute! At the entry point, our guide instructs you on everything you need to know to enjoy this intermediate canyoning Slovenia experience as safely as possible.
Canyoning in Kozjak starts with an adrenaline rush right off the bat. We enter the canyon with a 10-meter descend into a lush, green pool. The canyon views are amazing! Through millennia, the strong, flowing water has whittled a narrow path through the rock, where the walls are so high and close together that only a sliver of light can pass through in some places. On your way down, you’ll probably hear our main guide mention this is his favorite canyon in the Soča Valley, and you just might agree by the end.
As mentioned, the canyon ends at Kozjak waterfall. Be sure to smile at the numerous tourists who will undoubtedly take a photo of you making the last jump in the canyon. We said ‘last jump in the canyon,’ but before we get to the car, we have another jump waiting. However, we’ll leave the details of this one as a surprise!
Do you think this could be your favorite Slovenia canyoning spot as well? Join us!
